Johnson winner of the scholarship who was working on her masters degree at UMSL in
public policy. The money was donated by the AMVETS auxiliary. Martha will work up

at this time for our area.
Alderman Waterhouse for the 24th Ward reports that a trash charge of $11 monthly has
passed the Board of Alderman and will be signed by the mayor. This will be added to the
water bill as a separate charge. Trash collections will remain 2x weekly with the weekly
yard waste pickup and the monthly bulk pickup. There will also probably be an increase
in the water bill because of decreased water usage by AB and the county whom we sell
water to and we are dependant on that revenue.
Joe Vaccaro alderman for the 23rd ward reports that a charter school lease for Gateway
Science Academy was signed for the former Epiphany school building and they are
accepting student applications for K thru 7th grades. It is to be operated as a
neighborhood school and will have before and after school programs. There will be a
town hall meeting July 8th at Southwest Baptist church regarding the school,
Holly Cooper who operates a creative design business at 6022 -6026 Southwest and rents
an upstairs apartment at 6026 was requesting CHNA letter of support for the zoning
board to allow her to continue as she is currently. It was agreed unanimously to support
her with a letter to the zoning board.

of $2700 to $3000. Tiny Schaper points out that we do not currently have this much in
our treasury. Debbie Layne will contact businesses for donations and we will vote on the
proposed budget at the July meeting. We have obtained the park permit and Becky
