Clifton Heights, MO (KSDK) - One man is dead and another wounded after an apparent shoot-out in a South St. Louis neighborhood, where police say they rarely get calls. It happened less than a block from a busy Catholic church, where families were gathering for a Friday night fish-fry. It's a scene people here say they never expected, but one that several saw. "Seen a guy standing right on the sidewalk shooting like it was the wild west," said witness Mike Polito. The shooting happened just before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Ivanhoe and Arsenal in the Clifton Heights neighborhood. Police said it appears an argument inside a remodeling business spilled on to the street and ended in a shootout. One man was wounded and another, seated in a vehicle, was killed. Witnesses said the now deceased man crashed as he sped away from the gunfight.
