3rd Annual Community Garden Summit

3rd Annual Community Garden Summit

Gateway Greening will be holding it’s 3rd annual Community Garden Summit on Saturday, February 25 at St. Patrick Center.  This event brings together St. Louis area community members in an effort to highlight community gardens and regional food projects for the upcoming year.
This year’s Keynote speaker is Seed Savers Exchange President and Executive Director John Torgrimson.  The morning sessions will include topis on civic advocacy from Board of Alderman President Lewis Reed and an introduction from Gateway Greening’s new Executive Director, Mike Sorth.  National experts on community gardening, horticulture and community development will also be in attendance.   The morning sessions will provide opportunity to network with other community gardeners and individuals working in sustainable practices across the region. Each participant will choose to attend one breakout session for each round during the afternoon session.  These breakout sessions will include a broad range of topics ranging from pest, disease and weed ID and prevention to small grant and research writing.
You can register for the Community  Garden Summit online or call Gateway Greening at 413-588-9600 or email Theresa@gatewaygreening.org to specify which breakout session you are interested in and register for the event.
Gateway Greening seeks  to contribute to neighborhood vitality and stability through community food projects, education and wellness programs, and civic greening.
