Lots of fun activities slated in St. Louis neighborhoods; take advantage of all our great city has to offer.

All Ready STL Community Summit

Make plans now to attend the All Ready STL Community Summit on Thursday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, 615 South New Ballas Road. Join leaders from across the St. Louis region in exploring solutions to the critical needs for emergency preparedness in our community, with an emphasis on the disability community.  Summit highlights will include:

· Emergency preparedness needs among disability community and others

· Barriers to individual preparedness

· Case studies for successful implementation of emergency preparedness principles

· Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The nominations are in for the latest round of Monsanto’s Grow St. Louis program and voting will take place from Aug. 13 through Aug. 26. Winning entries will receive $15,000. Visit stlgrown.com today and vote for your favorite programs.

Fridays - Cherokee Street International Farmers Market, Cherokee & Texas, 4 p.m.

The Cherokee Street International Farmers Market is an outdoor international farmers market on Cherokee Street that features diverse farmers and food. From Asian greens to jalapeños, the market brings together neighborhood, refugee and regional farmers to enable you to enjoy culturally diverse foods and traditions. Aug. 10 - Food Truck Friday, Tower Grove Park, 5 – 8 p.m.

Sauce Magazine’s Food Truck Friday will take place this Friday in Tower Grove Park from 5 – 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop by the southwest side of Tower Grove Park and enjoy everything from pizza to tacos, cupcakes to crepes, sushi to sausages and more.

Aug. 11 – Stand Up Paddle Board Festival, The Boathouse in Forest Park, 1 p.m.

If you have ever wanted to try the fun sport of paddleboarding, stop by The Boathouse in Forest Park on Saturday between 1 and 4 p.m. for the Stand Up Paddle Board Festival. St. Louis Sail & Paddle will have a variety of boards to try. The free event is open to all ages and skill levels. Need more information? Call (314) 298-0411.

Aug. 11 – Spectacular Saturday, Central West End, 4 – 8 p.m.

Plan to visit the Central West End on Saturday evening and be prepared to expect the unexpected, as part of the Spectacular Saturday spontaneous entertainment event. The action will take place all along Euclid from Maryland to Washington. For more details, visit the cwescene.com web site.

Aug. 11 – Better Family Life Amnesty Project, St. Louis Community College at Forest Park, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Better Family Life’s Amnesty Project will return Saturday to offer relief to individuals with outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Participants must attend a workshop at St. Louis Community College at Forest Park, located at 5600 Oakland, where they will receive a voucher. The voucher and $100 must be presented to the participating municipality holding the outstanding warrant. There will be a $10 processing fee required at the workshop. Aug. 11 – Back to School Fair, Joint Neighborhood Ministry, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Joint Neighborhood Ministry will hold a Back to School Fair for residents of zip codes 63118 and 63104 on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2911 McNair Avenue in the Benton Park neighborhood. Children will receive free school supplies, free books and toys, gift cards for shoes (limited supply), BBQ lunch and more. Please call (314) 771-3987 for more information.

Aug. 11 – Free Concert, Lafayette Park, 6 p.m.

The Arts Council of Lafayette Square will present Big Bamou from 6 – 9 p.m. Saturday in Lafayette Park as part of its Summer Concert Series. Pack a snack, bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy this free outdoor concert with your neighbors. The park is located at Lafayette and Missouri Avenues.

Aug. 12 – Quilt Social, St. James the Greater School, Noon

Everyone is invited to come to St. James the Greater School located at Tamm and Wade in the Dogtown neighborhood for a Quilt Social this Sunday. Prizes will include handmade quilts and afghans. Doors will open at Noon and the social will start at 2 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is $12. For more information, call Bill at (314) 575-4381.

Aug. 12 - Free Summer Concert, Carondelet Park

The Carondelet Community Betterment Federation will present Mitzi MacDonald & Keltic Reign from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12 in Carondelet Park as part of its Summer Concert Series.  The concert will take place at the Music Stand at Loughborough and Field. Pack a picnic basket, bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy the sights and sounds of this free outdoor concert in the park.

Aug. 14 – Free Concert, Fanetti Park, 5:30 p.m.

The Carondelet Community Betterment Federation will present Raw Earth at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14 in Fanetti Park as part of its Summer Concert Series. Invite your family and friends to join you for the free concert. The park is located at Michigan and Schirmer.

Aug. 17 – ‘80s Pop Culture Trivia Night, St. Louis Humane Society, 7 p.m.

The St. Louis Humane Society will hold a Trivia Night on Friday, Aug. 17 at its Lecture Hall at 1201 Macklind Avenue in the Cheltenham neighborhood. If you enjoy trivia, consider getting together a table of your 21+ friends for the ‘80s Pop Culture Trivia Night. The event will include 10 rounds of ‘80s pop culture trivia questions, beverages, silent auction, big screen, DJ, extra points for ‘80s outfits, dance-offs, a 50/50 raffle and more.
