Seat Belt Campaign

This month the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has joined with the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) in strongly encouraging motorists to always buckle up.  According to the MSHP, thus far in 2014, 63 percent of those killed in traffic crashes were not wearing a seat belt.  Every fatality is someone's friend, sister, brother, parent, or child. A Missouri driver's chance of being killed in a traffic crash if not wearing a seat belt is 42 times greater than that of a driver who is buckled up. When adults wear seat belts, kids wear seat belts.  So set a good example and buckle up for every ride; and be sure everyone in the vehicle buckles up, too.  Buckling up on every ride is the single most important thing a family can do to stay safe in a motor vehicle.
