Some clarification, this bill was actually passed in August. It actually rolls back a moratorium on new liquor licenses for bars / taverns in the ward, and continues the existing moratorium on new package liquor licenses. There are about 10 separate locations that already have package liquor licenses in the area. I think most residents agree that there are plenty of places to buy alcohol nearby, and any more won't improve anyone's quality of life. Most states don't allow gas stations to double as liquor stores in the first place. I think most neighbors feel like Hampton is already pretty saturated with gas stations, fast food, and liquor stores.

Thanks,
