ARCHS Announces Four New Programs at Annual Community Partnership Breakfast

ARCHS announced four new programs to a crowd of 170 civic leaders and partners at its 5th Annual Community Partnership Breakfast on January 29. The crowd set a record attendance for the annual event.

First, ARCHS has renewed a previous partnership with Crown Vision Center to provide eye screenings, exams, and glasses for more than 12,000 area grade school students. Second, ARCHS has been selected by the State of Missouri to implement a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grant that will provide food benefits for at least 5,000 students in the Saint Louis Public Schools this summer.

Next, ARCHS has recently met with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to begin preliminary discussions on ways for ARCHS to provide technical assistance and professional development expertise for the growing number of adult day care programs in the region. Lastly, ARCHS will be investing more than $140,000 this year to provide funding to help open and license four new early childhood centers for the newly created St. Louis Children’s Initiative "Promise Zone."

Missouri Department of Corrections Director George Lombardi served as the keynote speaker for the breakfast. ARCHS and the Department of Corrections co-sponsor the annual Missouri Reentry Conference along with FACT and the Missouri Department of Social Services.
