March 2009 Letter from CHNA President

March 2009 Letter from CHNA President Dear Neighbors, Happy Spring! I hope everyone has thawed after the long winter. It will be nice to see neighbors out and about during the warmer months. Springtime also means that is it time for CHNA Board elections. At press time, two of our board members are not planning to seek re-election. Josh Wiese has served as president and vice president since 2006, and Julie Grant has been serving as Treasurer since 2005. Julie and Josh have put a lot of time into the neighborhood and deserve a break. Thank you Josh and Julie! Tiny Schaper plans to run for treasurer again. At this moment, I am still considering whether to seek a board position for the upcoming year. Please consider running for one of the positions. Time required is just a few hours a month. Serving the neighborhood is very rewarding and allows you to get to know your neighbors. I have enjoyed my time serving as Vice President for 2007-2008 and as current CHNA President. We are also seeking a new person to put together the newsletter a few times a year. Corinne Hilbert has done a fantastic job for the past two years and wishes to pass the reins to someone else. Please let a board member know if you are interested. Thank you Corinne! We plan to resume Coffee in the Park the 4th Saturday in April. Please join us by the playground from 8-10am for coffee and conversation. As always, if you are not a member of CHNA, please consider becoming a member. Cost is just $10 per year per family. Your dues help pay for the events the neighborhood association sponsors each year and also funds this newsletter. Please let me know if you have questions. Feel free to call me at anytime. Becky Hughes CHNA President
